On November 27, 2018, Netflix and The Roald Dahl Story Company jointly announced that Netflix would be extending the Roald Dahl universe of stories for global family audiences with an exclusive new slate of original animated event series, based on the books from the acclaimed and award-winning author’s best-selling library, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG, The Twits, and many other beloved titles. It would be great if I can have it in my room, so every time I want an orange or banana, I can just lick it.

Partly the tepid(but still honourable) score was due to the fact that I'd read the book so many times ago that the magic seemed to have worn away in these pages. I didn't read, it was read to me by my fifth grade teacher a wonderful woman who introduced me to the magnificent world of books.Maybe i'm reading too far into it, but it seems like a very unethical capitalistic scheme and instead of seeing Oompa-Loompas as people eager to make some chocolate, they seemed rather treated as inferior. Dahl was born in Wales and spent most of his life in England; he flew fighter planes for the Royal Air Force during the Second World War (an experience that no doubt nourished the writing of his memorable short story “Beware of the Dog”). Re-reading it as an adult, I can't help by picturing the actors' faces in certain scenes, so I guess some of the fun has been spoiled for me (even though I adore both movies).

Dahl responded to Cameron's criticisms by noting that the classics that she had cited would not be well received by contemporary children. The publisher explained its objective in a blog post accompanying the announcement about the jacket art: "This new image . On the day of the tour, Wonka welcomes the five children and their parents inside the factory, a wonderland of confectionery creations that defy logic. In the final stage of the ride, guests enter one of two glass elevators, where they join Willy Wonka as they travel around the factory, eventually shooting up and out through the glass roof. This classic of children’s fantasy, for all the beauty of its more lyrical passages and its flights of fancy, draws much of its depth and resonance from its gritty, tough-minded qualities.
