Grain is present and gets a lot darker during slow motion inserts, but this appears accurate (aside from a handful of noisy shots that I’m guessing were taken from a different source), doesn’t interfere with separation, and there isn’t notable posterization. framed presentation overall looks very good, although film grain can look a bit unstable in certain sequences. is coming soon from Arrow Films but I’m looking forward more to the individual releases by 88 Films.

All of these tracks sound great and it was a true pleasure to finally hear the English dub I first saw Dragons Forever with all those years ago. Not only is the action sequences of the highest quality, but the actual characters and the comedic writing is really well done. All of the tracks are clean and clear with discernible dialogue, some less obviously overdubbed than others. Dragons Forever was originally going to be a 4K Ultra HD only release, but due to fan confusion in both regions they decided to make the release a combo pack. There really are only these three films, Project A, Wheels on Meals, and Dragons Forever that show Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao together at their best, and more importantly in their prime. This could be an easily pious martial arts actioner, but the first quarter of the film proves that there’s much joy to be found in the trio bickering and beating the hell out of each other.Dragons Forever (飛龍猛將, Fēi Lóng Měng Jiāng) is a 1988 live-action theatrical Hong Kong film directed by Sammo Hung and Corey Yuen, produced by Leonard Ho, and written by both Gordon Chan and Leung Yiu-ming. This is one of the best restorations of a Hong Kong martial arts film I have ever seen and should be the benchmark for all other films to be judged against. It’s not overly extravagant, throwing effects and action around the soundstage as if suddenly released from the constraints of mono, but it’s a more subtle up-mix, keeping the dialogue mostly centralised, although using the surrounds when appropriate.
