About this deal

If your model compute capability is lower than 4.3 you will not be able to run it, and you will need a hardware upgrade, if the value is bigger than 4.3 you are able to use the scanner with that graphic card. Once you’ve chosen your scanning mode and resolution, you can start the scanning process by pressing the button at the top of the scanner. Preview step to adjust settings After I first learned about the 3D scanner and realized one of its important roles - converting real-life objects into 3D models - I had a question: How accurate is it? Like many people, once I learn about this technology, it is natural to start paying attention to what accuracy it can achieve because it certainly seems to be a simple and direct criterion to understand the quality of a scanner. Yet is this really the case? Here are all the facts about accuracy that you, as a person interested in 3D scanning, should know:

One small downside: when you want to save a new project, you’re taken to the folder of your previous project. It’s a minor detail but a bit annoying over time! 3D scanning results Khmer lion The Einstar comes in, aside from the cardboard box, a very practical carrying case. It safely stores the scanner, its cables, the calibration case, and markers. It’s the first time we see so much effort put into affordable 3D scanner accessories. Even some more expensive scanners don’t have such a nice protective case. The process was really easy, too, and took under 10 minutes for both calibration types: one regarding geometrical precision and the other dedicated to colors. The Einstar is not a budget or entry scanner, yet it is not a professional grade scanner, if it were a camera 📸 it would be called “Prosumer” which is technology that is higher than the usual consumer entry option with some features that are available on professional units (think Canon 90D or Canon R6 Mark II). Cameras in this range from Nikon, Canon, and Sony are called Prosumer. This scanner is a Prosumer Scanner, and it is the first in that range and right now it is in a league of its own. Shining 3D didn’t just make a scanner to compete with the competition, they made a whole new level of scanner! You need to do Reverse Engineering to acquire CAD data. Accuracy is defined as "the degree to which a measurement result conforms to the correct value or standard" and is essentially the closeness of a given set of measurements to the agreed value/object's true value. In general, accuracy is the result of measurement under ideal conditions and cannot be judged by visual effects alone. Simply put, there is nothing budget about this scanner—especially if you don’t have a mondo PC to run it, which will have to be added to the cost of acquisition, but comparing the Einstar against the Revopoint, and Creality offerings is like comparing a Ferrari vs. a Kia—it’s an insult to the Ferrari.

We scanned this lion before with laser 3D scanners that didn’t capture colors, so we wanted to try with the Einstar and see how good a color scan would look compared to the real statue. After watching that video, I bought Einstar along with a pretty pricey PC laptop to run it, and yesterday on my first scans I completely copied a supercharger intercooler housing and a car’s coil cover. I’m in the automotive field. I need good scans so I can import them to CAD and get to work designing parts. To be able to capture the lion’s belly and feet, we split this scan into two projects. The auto alignment feature worked great, as did the hole-filling and texture remapping tools mentioned earlier. On the final 3D model, it’s difficult to tell which areas were automatically generated.

Our mission at SHINING 3D is to make quality 3D digitizing technology accessible to everybody, helping enterprises and individuals to enter the realm of the digital world. Einstar 3D scanner has been developed, allowing everybody to digitize the world around them like never before. ↓ SCROLL DOWN TO SAVE YOUR EARLY BIRD DEAL ↓Einstar 3D scanner can provide high quality scans with high color fidelity and detailed scans. The scanner collects high density point cloud data fast and easily with point distance up to 0,1 mm. Thanks to a built-in RGB color camera, the 3D data consists of authentic colors. Furthermore, a built-in detail enhancement technology optimizes the point cloud for complete data acquisition. Objects that are too simple, like a vase. Again, since the vase looks the same from all around it, the scanner wouldn’t be able to differentiate one side from another. Once we were done with our two-point clouds (2 projects) and they were both cleaned up, we proceeded to align them to get the final mesh. The built-in detail enhancement technology optimizes the point cloud for complete data acquisition, better guides your scanning and improve the data quality. In terms of time, it took us about 10 minutes for the first project and a little under 5 minutes for the second one (the lion’s underside). The auto alignment was almost instantaneous, auto hole filling took a few seconds, and the texture remapping took about a minute.

We used the hole-filling tool to fix a few areas that were hard to reach with the scanner. You can manually fill each hole and use different parameters for each hole, or use the auto feature. We used the automatic hole-filling tool and it worked nicely- even on a pretty big area (see the video below). These numbers correspond to the distance between each point in your point cloud (a.k.a. dot cloud). The closer the distance between each point, the higher the resolution. As you’d expect from so many generations of products, they just keep getting better all around. In terms of performance and software, there’s always been constant evolution over the years, and we noticed an even bigger step up when reviewing the HX. To understand this question, it is most important to understand the specific application of the scanned model. In 3D scanning, accuracy is especially important for industrial applications, such as quality inspection and reverse engineering. Accurate results require multiple scans of the calibration artifacts (usually a certified ball bar) at different angles under ideal environmental conditions according to the VDI/VDE 2634 standard. Each scanner in the EinScan Pro Series, EinScan H Series follows the same standards to ensure accuracy is controlled within the listed values. With the increasing demand for 3D scanning in various industries, the need for scanners that can handle both small and large objects has become a common query. Are you looking for such a solution? Look no further than the combination of SHINING 3D EinScan-SE Desktop 3D Scanner and Einstar! These two scanners work together seamlessly to give you high-quality scans of objects of all sizes. The scanner has a rectangular, boxy shape, and doesn’t have a special “gripping” zone (there’s just a wrist strap to avoid dropping it). You have to hold it from the tip of your fingers while being careful not to wrap them around the front side of the scanner. It’s not a very comfortable hand position, we felt a strain on top of the hand and wrist after just a few minutes of scanning. Not great for long scanning sessions, but fine for small/medium size objects or parts. Software and computer requirements Was going to buy a Revopoint Mini because the maker of my 3d printer, Phrozen, was recommending them. That was until I saw a video by “Making for Motorsport” which compared four different entry-level 3D scanners: Creality Lizard, Creality CR-01, Revopoint Pop2, and then the Einstar. The other scanners were mainly toys 🧸, whereas the Einstar was a hand-me-down of the Shining 3D profession product line with features and software. In the part of the video where he scans part of a car, every other Scanner gave marginal results—lots of noise, or hard to get the accuracy, but the Einstar—it not only captured the car’s panel and features, it even scanned parts of the engine and coolant houses that were visible through the front grill 😲. As the guy in the video said “The Einstar is just in a whole different league.” Have you ever struggled to find instructions on how to use your scanner after buying the one you want? Now Shining 3D has created a platform that combines Software Updates,Product Manual,Product Advanced InformationandHow-to videos. Simply register on Shining 3D passport and bind your scanner, you will have direct access to all the information we have compiled for you to make your scanning journey more enjoyable.
