Improve home automation systems by integrating a ZIGBEE smart switch from our stunning Sunricher range. A ZigBee Sensor (or switch) is a ZIGBEE device that can be controlled by a ZigBee hub or controller. This will allow you to control a connected light by turning it on or off through your smart home devices. Moisture detectors can be placed in many places. Currently we have one on a washing machine that's outlived expectations and will likely fall apart soon, but heaters, bathtubs, and sinks are other obvious risk areas. I used 4 of them for ~7-8 months on a Hubitat with Aqara-compatible repeaters. They never dropped off. Response to changing light is usually under a minute.

The range of a ZigBee motion sensor determines the distance which the sensor can detect movement. For example, a sensor with a range of 20 feet should be able to detect movement at 20 feet away. If you need to cover a large area, make sure the sensor has enough range to reach every corner of your home or office.

The Linkind Motion Sensor performed very well in all of our tests. In fact, the sensor responded to movement in less than one second and sent an alert to our Linkind App less than two seconds later. Motion sensors typically operate on battery power, so the lower the power consumption, the longer they’ll operate without needing replacement. Battery life is typically specified in years, so you should look for a model which provides at least 1 year of battery life. Final Thoughts If you are looking for a motion detector to use indoors, go for one with a shorter range. On the other hand, outdoor sensors should be able to detect movement that is further away. 2. Turn on lights when a door opens
The best example here is the Ecobee's Room Sensors. Temperature sensors are great for effectively cooling or heating rooms. Let's say your thermostat is in your hallway and its 71 degrees Fahrenheit. In your room, it's 67 degrees Fahrenheit. Having a Room Sensor in that room will tell your HVAC that your room is colder than the hallway, and that it might need a little more heat.

To test it properly, we placed the motion sensor in a way that would provide a wide view of the entry way, but still allow the sensor to be sensitive enough to capture the presence of people walking through the doorway. I bought a Philips Hue sensor and it updates every 10 seconds, but it has a somewhat short range and little viewing angle. I've found a number of posts here in the community forums but the sensors that I've tried to find seem to not be around anymore. You'll configure the radio using your free Device Cloud account. (Note that radios can also be configured using XCTU.) NOTE: If your radio was recently configured by the XBee ZigbeeCloud Kit then the sampling rate and pin settings are already set. You can safely skip these steps. We were very happy with the way the THIRDREALITY ZigBee Motion Sensor performed. We were able to capture the presence of people who would come to our home during the day and return in the evening, and the motion alert was even sensitive enough to detect people who wandered by during the night, and would trigger the alarm at a more sensitive volume than usual.

I already have hue motion sensors and I love the light level and temp sensor in it but I’m looking for alternatives and to see if there’s better for cheaper. I am looking for zigbee light sensors. I don't care of there are other sensors attached but light (lux) is required. There are some simple rules to follow, though. First, don’t use motion sensors in areas where you want to turn off lights. For example, in a living room, you may want the lights off to watch a film, whereas a motion sensor would turn them on automatically. Secondly, be careful of where you place the motion sensor, as you don’t want it to go off if, say, a pet walks past it: mount a motion sensor higher on the wall to avoid this problem. You'll need an Ecobee Smart Thermostat, Ecobee4 or Ecobee3 Lite to use these, but the result is a much more intelligent way to heat your home.I have been looking for an ambient light sensor to use with other IoT smart home devices. In my opinion this would be a commonly requested device for controlling internal lighting. For example if you had smart lighting, you may want to turn the lights off if the sun is shining brightly or turn the lights on if it's cloudy. Weather services could help, but ambient light at the location would be far more reliable. But the word sensor is itself pretty vague. There are many sensors out there designed to fulfil different purposes: movement sensors, light sensors, temperature sensors, and plenty more. Zigbee is one of two most popular smart home automation protocols. One of the most popular products it powers is smart light solutions (think Hue, Xiaomi and GE) I am going to feed them with a 3V power supply to avoid changing the battery even though it may last more than two years.
